Lauren loved the challenge of, and the friends she met while playing soccer. She was a member of the her high school soccer team, played on three NMYSA State Championship teams, and was selected to her age group’s ODP team. At college, she led her women’s and co-ed teams to intramural soccer titles.

Lauren was young, vibrant, loved kids, and was well-loved by everyone who met her. She was just beginning her junior year at Northern Arizona University when she passed away in her sleep at the age of 20.

As a legacy to her memory the Lauren A. Horger Soccer Foundation was established with help from her extended soccer family and friends. The Foundation provides New Mexico’s disadvantaged youth soccer players from U-6 to U-18 with the necessary funds to play and enjoy soccer as much as she did.
